It's now 6.37am

and I've been up for an hour - what would possess me to do this??? The blinken weather - Dunedin has been smacked with winter (again) and we've got gale force winds...so strong that it's actually woken me twice during the night. I'm half-pie expecting our roof to go whipping off down the hill - it's just nasty!! On the brighter side, I'm getting tired, so might head back to bed for an hour before the girlie gets up!
Quick update on Miss M - I phoned the GP that requested the bloods, to finally tell her we'd got them done & that she'd had the MRI...She said nothing about the metal levels in her blood, which I was expecting, but rather that Molly's thyroid function was low....5.1 - I have no idea of the norm, and I don't know anymore information than this, as she didn't reply to my email (and my barrage of questions, LOL) and she's now in the states until the 24th - on the bright side of that though, she's taken all Molly's notes to discuss her case with the big shots in America! We might start getting some GOOD answers! Must remember to call her paediatrician and find out the results of the MRI.
T'Keyah is in Christchurch - I last saw her on the 4th of April when I dropped her at Mums - they are both up there for two weekends of dog shows - and it's bliss...it's certainly quiet without her, and I do miss her, but I don't - LMAO. It's going to make a far nice school holidays with less arguing between her and Molly!

my entry is gone

for the SBO 'Get Real' competition...closing date is the 1st April. I feel really lost now though, it's been all I've done lately, so it feels weird not having it to do anymore! Back to 12 x 12's I guess - that'll be a challenge! LOL

Here's a few sneak peeks...

We got the official appointment in the mail today - Molly's MRI is scheduled for the 3rd April (Next Tuesday!!!) at 8.15am...it's now starting to scare the bejeebers out of me! I have no worries with the results, regardless of the outcome, but seeing the images I think the reality of what's going on really hit me!
Thanks to all the birthday wishes and goodies that I've been getting! Way to generous and kind! Though, scrapping mail has got to be the best kind!

Congratulations to all those that got through SBO's idol - sounds like this competitions going to be a good one! Can't wait to see what their challenge is about!

Monday....again

Time is just charging on by! I'd originally thought that Molly would start school at the start of Term 2, but considering SES hasn't even contacted me regarding Molly's ORRS funding, I'm thinking it's going to be more like the start of Term 3. Though, she's getting so much from kindy right now, so I'm really in no rush to yank her out...she won't get those same opportunities for play once she's at school.

I'm patiently (or not) waiting here for the nurofen to take charge and numb my pain. Blardy headaches, I'm thinking the wind has something to do with them lately, we've had heaps of wind and I'm getting these hideous headaches.

ooooo, exciting, Craig is off now looking for a distrubuter for my car, crikey, does that mean I might actually get to drive it this arvo??? It died on me just about two weeks ago....two weeks! Gee I've been soft on that boy! (**Please cross your fingers for me - because if you could see what I have to drive...well, it's just not pretty!!**)

I managed to do another Get Real page last night - one for the kiwi lunchbox - I got some of the new Basic Grey, Stella Ruby - OMG, I adore this stuff, my love of basic grey has started all over again!! I did my entries into Pam's CJ this morning too, (Sneak peeks below) and posted that
off. I really enjoy doing the CJ's - it's great fun seeing everyones styles, and sneak peeks into their lives, plus it's great getting scrappin' mail!!
Molly is slowly trashing the house, and while this headache is here, I couldn't care less! I want to scrap, but I'm struggling with what to do (not the lack of anything to do, it's the how to start and be happy with it, that I'm struggling with!!) - I hate it when your mojo takes a hike!!
Wednesday kindy has a trip to the museum and then to McDonalds...normally I go on all the trips, just because of who Molly is, but her teacher's aide offered to take her and said for me to take the morning off!!! Hehe, so stoked! She'll probably be better behaved for her too, she seems to run rings around me sometimes - and with the new smacking law...kidding!!
Com'n drugs & com'n Craig - I'd like to drive *my* car to collect T'K at 4 from touch practice.

Who's in charge

of the season change! And how come it changed like the flick of a switch!!?? It's darn ugly in Dunedin, though it does sound like the north island is copping way worse (which is such a change!!)

I am working my way through the SBO 'Get Real' competition, and considering I only restarted last week, I don't think I'm doing too badly! I wasn't thrilled with the 8.5x11, so had a rethink and changed it all! I've only got 5 more to go....I'm sure I can get them done by the end of the month, these two (I'm doing doubles) are from the @HOME theme
It's just a little album (think the pages are about 7x7), but I'm really chuffed with how it's coming together, and it'll be great once it's finished - some of the journalling is raw, but thats my take on it - the competitions name is Get Real, it's all about the little things and for me that means journalling, the good, bad and ugly!
T'Keyah has been to Wellington for the NZ Marching Champs - they came back with silver medals in the plate - so the girls were absolutely buzzing, makes them 7th team in the country. So it looks like she's decided to go back for another season, which is fine, as long as it's her decision.
Molly is doing well - more and more language is coming out of this kid, and the clarity is just getter better each day! We've unoffically heard that her MRI has been made for the 3rd April!! I'm beyond stoked that this is happening so quickly - we will get them to draw the blood while she's under for the bio-medical testing too...saves taking her back to Southern Labs and going through that trauma again (hehe, it was just as traumatic for us and the staff I think!!)
Well, better fly - off too look after Cam & Charlie - swap one brat for two (hehe, aye Lynne!!) Lets hope they can avoid the cupboards.....mmmmwwwhhhhhaaaahhhhhaaaa! (sooo kidding!)

Hot!

Well, at least it was hot earlier! The wind's picked up now, and cooled a lot!

I've been scrappin - yeah, not bloggin' but scrappin'! Just did the challenge for the No. 8 Wired Dare for this week - I figure doing challenges and submissions at least keeps me scrappin' and makes that stash of photos go down some! Dare was to use black & white with a "pop"...so in typical fashion, I used pink (hehe, no surprise huh!). I ran out of e's (as you do) so tried the negative look, looks quite cool, I would've liked to cut the middle part, but it wasn't happening, so I decided to quit before I wrecked it!!

My first DT stuff is up in the gallery www.scrapbooker.co.nz - this months stuff was heritage, and I admit I struggled. I'd never done heritage before, always had the best intentions, but never got around to it. I'm pleased with the results though, and now may even keep up with the photos (specially while my parents are still alive and can help me with people and dates!!).
Molly is doing well, as is T'Keyah - T'Keyah leaves in just under 2 weeks for Wellington for the NZ Marching Champs - she's thinking of leaving at the end of the season, which is fine - it's totally her choice whether she continues or decides to leave. It'll be funny having her around so much during the weekends!! Mops keeps on spitting out new words - hearing her saying bumblebee or doodlebops is just sooo cute!! She's a character.
Puppies are doing well - just over 8 weeks now - mum's decided to call them Summer & Daisy - dunno how that's going to go over with T'Keyah, she was set on calling one Danni! Maybe she can save that for another pup?
Jeepers, it's 2.48 already - I'll be getting a text from T'K soon telling me my instructions, lol - sometimes I pick her up, sometimes she walks to Shannons and I get her later, today though, I think Shannon has practice after school and T'K doesn't, so I guess we'll be going to get her - Taxi anyone? LOL

She looks like she's been swallowed...

by her uniform! LOL! She had a fabulous 1st day, and buzzed about it for ages after (infact, I think my ears are still bleeding LOL!!). I'm thrilled she had such a great day, she's ended up in the form room with her two friends from Tahuna Intermediate, and her friend from primary school (they went to different intermediates, but have still remained friends - they are a week apart in age and have been solid from day one at primary school!)

I've revelled in the silence, and Molly just chills in the afternoon (if we're home) and there are no arguments or squabbles....bliss!
This is the photo that Lynne took of Molly on Tuesday - such a perfect shot!!

I made some cards yesterday and today - partly for a challenge (had to make 1st for a girl, 5th for a boy, general birthday & a 21st card) I combined that challenge, and Lachlan and Kelsey are turning 5 & 1, so I couldn't resist making their cards! I really enjoyed it actually, and will probably make more, but I'll still scrap my pages!! (eventually...)

This is Kelsey's one up close - I was chuffed how it turned out!!

The weather is the pits today - damp, gloomy and periods of really heavy rain - I think I'd fall over if we actually did get some summer! Perfect for staying indoors and scrapping though!!

Happy Birthday, Princess!

Yup, 5...Miss Molly is five - scarey thought really, I'm in a blur where the years have gone!!

We had a small party yesterday (thanks Lynne!! - it was at her place!), and Molly had a fabulous number 5 cake. Lynne took a brilliant shot, same time as this one, but Molly is looking directly at her! Can't wait to get some of her shots!

Crikey, this time five years ago she was all of 2 hours and 17 minutes old!
*sniff* why do they grow sooooo fast??
I've got my first DT pack - Heritage, which is really stretching the old thinking matter for me, I've never done anything heritage, so it's really challenging - but fun!!
OOOOOOooooo, and tomorrow morning, this house will be silent, perhaps only the tap-tap of the keyboard or the click of scissors, but it will be childfree!! My big girl will be off for her first day of high school - see, I was really kicked in the gut with that huh, my baby is 5 and my other baby is starting high school - way to make a chick feel old LOL!!!

and February is here

Honestly, where'd January go - it's kinda frightening how quickly time is going by now....must be the age thing *gulp*

Well, Molly is back at Kindy and loving every second of it - still all positive in leaving, so that's a huge relief! Her birthday is on Wednesday - the big 5! - but she's not going to school until maybe second term (still have so much to work out with her), so I talked to kindy about the birthday celebration (they do the playdough cake, hat and sing to the five year olds when they leave, but because of our situation I needed to know what was going on)...apparently they've already sussed it all out - they are doing the cake, singing and taking a photo and everything for her, and then when she's going to school, they'll sing the happy school days *aww* It's nice that they have thought ahead with this, and Molly obviously has wormed her way into all their hearts!

Well, this week could be the week to attempt the bloods again...her bruise has all gone, so now I'll call them and find another good time *fingers crossed*

Check out this girl - Dad took her out to the Taieri AMP show last Sunday to meet Dorothy (Molly adores Dorothy!) They got several great shots of Molly hugging Dorothy & giving her roses! So cool, and it was awesome that she was just wandering about to give the chance to have a hug & a photo!!
And Carol, if you're reading this - I did stitch the album together, but it wasn't tight enough, so I ditched the idea (again) and started new - LOL - with think about getting this one spiral bound (perhaps!)

Did you hear her??

Ugh, what a disaster those blood tests turned out to be - the women that tried (yup, it was unsuccessful) were so awesome - managed to find a vein (looks like she's inherited her mothers non-existent veins!) and get the needle in, and blood started filling into the vial, but then I think she wiggled and it popped out - so we have to go back. It was the only good vein, and it's bruised - poor baby!! I was bummed, mainly because of the dramas of the whole thing, but now that we have to do it all over again, and she knows what the place means - good golly - it's going to be fun!!!
Scrapping in the weekend was brilliant - so good in fact, that we've booked in again for the 29th! Yipee!
I haven't even taken photos lately, so there is no layouts or pictures to post! Slack huh - oh, and no scrapping since sunday, because my ink is empty! Might grab one when I'm out after with Molly at speech class (which is such a waste of my time!!)

A glimpse of summer

Yes! We have blue sky and sunshine today, wonder how long it'll last! It was a quiet week with T'K gone - though that was shattered when she came home a day early! Though it gave us the chance to go try on her new uniform (which comes to a grand total of $525!!) Skirt, two short sleeved blouses, socks, vest and blazer - I do admit though, it looks super smart on. Then she asks to go see about shoes - sketchers no less at $100!! - oooh, though you do get a free drink bottle (must be gold plated!). If only I had that kinda money to spend on scrap supplies LOL!!
Well, my little machine is working hard out - mind you, I'm actually kind of surprised that there isn't more washing, not that I'm complaining mind!!
Still waiting for my DT stuff - think I've missed the boat on deadlines this time round - unfortunately they had my wrong address, so bums!!
Monday is the day I'm calling the lab - I need to get Molly's blood drawn - I'm really really really dreading it - she's such a strong, stubborn little mite - even when she was sick with pneumonia in September, it took four of us to hold her down!! What's she going to be like well??
But, tomorrow is my day - from 10-4pm I'm down at paperworx scrapping my heart out (well more like chatting, and doing a little scrapping!! LOL). Yay - can't wait - a day off from Molly barking orders at me LOL. T'K is spending the weekend with my mum, she was busting to see the puppies. We're heading out once I've hung a load of washing out - Boodles needs a bath!

and then there were two...

yup, the wee girl died too, she passed away on Wednesday afternoon. I feel so bad for mum, she tried so hard for that wee girl...but on talking with another breeder, she suspects that the four pups that died were premature - which makes sense because they were virtually bald on their heads, so if mum does decide to continue breeding, there will be strict mating ground rules from now on - think Jessie was mated over a 5 day period, and that makes perfect sense, another 5 days for those wee ones inside Mum, would have made all the difference.

Been scrapping some too, and it's great - as much as these kids are driving me completely potty, I have done some pages. Have done two for this months "Get Real" theme (one to go), a challenge for scrapbooking by design which is now up and running and looking great!
This was for the first challenge using 2 patterned papers.

Yesterday was glorious, today, overcast and fairly cool - typical Dunedin I guess! Lucky T'Keyah is off tomorrow morning with her Dad and Step-mother to Alexandra, til Friday next week (now if only I could get rid of Molly - gee imagine having all that time to MYSELF!) Though, next Sunday is scrap Sunday which I can't wait for!

I'm still waiting for my first assignment for scrapbooking Annies - I know one other team member had her box in the middle of December - waa! I want mine! Don't know if it's lost in the post or what...very frustrating!!

Right, off to hang washing and then do a challenge for SBO - Lara has organised a mini-crop - hope those poxie babes get well soon!!
